Whisky Barrel Guitar Wall Mount – Reclaimed Oak Stave Rack
£79.00
This whisky barrel guitar wall mount is handcrafted in Scotland, near Loch Lomond, from a single reclaimed oak stave that once aged Scotch whisky. It runs roughly 89–109 cm (35–43 in) long, holds your choice of two or three silicone-lined hooks, and fixes to the wall with the pre-drilled holes included. Every one is a genuine one-off — no two staves wear their char and grain the same way.
From Scotch cask to centre stage
Each mount begins life as part of a working whisky barrel. For years this American oak held maturing single malt, drawing in the warm honey tones, deep amber patina and gentle char that only time in a cask can give. When the barrel finally retired, I sanded the stave back by hand — easing away the grime while preserving the character: the darkened char, the tactile grain, and the original rust-hued hoop metal that I re-fix as accents. A hand-rubbed linseed oil finish is the only thing I add. The result is a reclaimed whisky barrel given a second life on your wall.

- Robust solid oak — no flex, no wobble under the weight of your instruments.
- Pre-drilled mounting holes; use wall fixings suited to your wall type.
- Personalisation available as a custom order — get in touch before you buy and I'll hand-engrave a name or message into the oak, such as "Daddy's pride and joys".
How it fits your space
This is part guitar rack, part whisky wall decor. The curved stave and rust-toned hoop plates bring an industrial rustic interior to life — a home studio, a snug, a man cave, or a hallway that needs a talking point. It sits as easily beside vinyl and amps as it does among Scottish distillery memorabilia, and it keeps your guitars off the floor and within easy reach. Want the same stave with a glow behind it? Where do the barrels come from?
The barrels are retired Scotch whisky casks sourced in Scotland, made from American oak. Once they finish maturing whisky, I reclaim the staves and rework them by hand in my Loch Lomond workshop.
Will this whisky barrel guitar wall mount damage my guitar?
No. Each hook is lined with soft silicone that cushions the headstock, so your instrument hangs securely without marks or scratches.
Is each piece unique?
Yes. Because every stave is a genuine reclaimed whisky barrel, the grain, char marks and hoop placement differ on each mount. Small dents, stains and rust marks are part of its character, not flaws.
How many guitars can it hold?
Choose two or three silicone-lined hooks. The solid oak stave comfortably holds electric, acoustic and bass guitars, and works for ukuleles or violins too.
Can I have it personalised?
Yes — personalisation is available as a custom order. Message me before ordering and I'll hand-engrave a name or short message into the oak, a popular touch for a gift such as "Daddy's pride and joys".
How do I install it?
The mount arrives with pre-drilled holes. Fix it to the wall using fixings appropriate for your wall type — masonry plugs for brick, or anchors into a stud for plasterboard.
How do I care for it?
Keep it out of direct damp and wipe it occasionally with a dry or barely-damp cloth. A light re-oil with linseed oil every year or two keeps the grain rich and protected.
Does it make a good gift?
It does. This whisky barrel guitar wall mount is the gift a musician or whisky lover will actually use, and the custom engraving option makes it personal for a birthday, anniversary or Father's Day.
