Whisky Barrel Guitar Hanger – Stainless Steel Hooks on Reclaimed Oak

Price

£89.00

This whisky barrel guitar hanger is handcrafted in Scotland, near Loch Lomond, from a single reclaimed white oak stave that once aged Scotch whisky. It runs roughly 89–109 cm (35–43 in) long, carries your choice of two or three sturdy stainless steel hooks, and comes predrilled for hanging. Every one is a genuine one-off — no two staves wear their char and grain the same way.

From Scotch cask to stage-ready display

Each hanger begins life as part of a working whisky barrel. For years this American white oak held maturing single malt, taking on the warm honey tones, deep amber patina and gentle char that only time in a cask can give. When the barrel was broken down, most of its staves were bound for the scrap pile — I rescued this one. In my wee Loch Lomond workshop I sanded it back through several passes, sealed it with a clear coat of linseed oil to bring out the grain, and fitted heavy stainless steel hooks that hold your instruments with confidence. Where the stave allows, I keep the original barrel hoop metal as rugged accents. It's honest, first-hand work: sawdust, oil and solid steel.

How it fits your space

This whisky barrel guitar hanger is part guitar rack, part whisky wall decor. The curved stave, rust-toned hoops and brushed steel hooks bring an industrial rustic interior to life — a home studio, a snug, a man cave, or a hallway that needs a talking point. It sits as easily beside amps and vinyl as it does among Scottish distillery memorabilia, and it keeps your guitars off the floor and within easy reach. Prefer a softer touch on the headstock? Where do the barrels come from?

The barrels are retired Scotch whisky casks sourced in Scotland, made from American white oak. Once they finish maturing whisky, I reclaim the staves and rework them by hand in my Loch Lomond workshop.

Why stainless steel hooks?

Stainless steel is strong and won't rust, so the hooks hold heavier instruments securely for years. For a delicate finish I'd suggest a soft sleeve on the hook, or checking the fit first, as every headstock differs.

How many guitars can it hold?

Choose two or three stainless steel hooks. The solid oak stave comfortably holds electric, acoustic and bass guitars, and takes ukuleles or violins too.

Will it scratch my guitar?

The hooks are metal, so for a delicate finish I'd suggest adding a soft sleeve or checking the fit on your own instrument. The hanger holds guitars by the neck and keeps them secure on the wall.

Can I have it personalised?

Yes — personalisation is available as a custom order. Message me before ordering and I'll hand-engrave a name or short message into the oak, a popular touch for a gift such as "Daddy's pride and joys".

How do I install it?

The hanger arrives with pre-drilled holes. Fix it to the wall using fixings appropriate for your wall type — masonry plugs for brick, or anchors into a stud for plasterboard.

How do I care for it?

Keep it out of direct damp and wipe it occasionally with a dry or barely-damp cloth. A light re-oil with linseed oil every year or two keeps the grain rich; the stainless hooks need no upkeep.

Does it make a good gift?

It does. This whisky barrel guitar hanger is the gift a musician or whisky lover will actually use, and the custom engraving option makes it personal for a birthday, anniversary or Father's Day.
