LED Whisky Barrel Guitar Hanger – Stainless Steel Hooks, RGB Backlit Oak

Price

£99.00

This LED whisky barrel guitar hanger is handcrafted in Scotland, near Loch Lomond, from a single reclaimed white oak stave that once aged Scotch whisky. It carries your choice of two or three stainless steel hooks and a band of RGB backlighting, holds two or three instruments — guitars, basses, violins or ukuleles — and the colour-changing LEDs (rechargeable, with a remote) wash the wall behind the wood in any shade you like. The stave runs roughly 89–109 cm (35–43 in) long, comes predrilled for hanging, and keeps the genuine char and hoop marks of a working cask.

Where music meets malt

For years this stave held Scotch safe while it slept, taking on the deep char of the toasted interior. When the cask was broken down, most of its staves were bound for the scrap pile — I rescued this one. In my wee Loch Lomond workshop I sanded it back through several passes, sealed it with clear linseed oil to draw out the warm honey tones and grain, and fitted heavy stainless steel hooks that hold your instruments with confidence. Where the stave allows, I keep the original barrel hoop metal as accents. Then I add a strip of RGB LEDs behind the wood, so your instrument doesn't just hang — it glows. Honest, first-hand work: sawdust, oil, solid steel and a bit of stagecraft.

How it fits your space

This LED whisky barrel guitar hanger turns wall storage into a feature. Behind a home bar, in a music room or a man cave, it keeps instruments safe and to hand while the RGB glow makes them the centrepiece of the room. The warm oak, rust-marked hoops, brushed steel and colour-changing light sit naturally in an industrial rustic interior, and it works as whisky wall decor even between gigs. For a player who loves a good dram it doubles as genuine Scottish distillery memorabilia. Prefer it without the lights? See my whisky barrel guitar hanger.

How do the LEDs work?

The backlighting is a colour-changing RGB strip with 16 colours, 4 modes and full dimming, run from a rechargeable 2000 mAh battery and a remote. A USB cable is included, it gives 6+ hours per charge, and there's no hardwiring — so you can place it anywhere and switch it from across the room.

Why stainless steel hooks?

Stainless steel is strong and won't rust, so the hooks hold heavier instruments securely for years. For a delicate finish I'd suggest a soft sleeve on the hook, or checking the fit first, as every headstock differs.

How many instruments does it hold?

Choose two or three stainless steel hooks, so it holds two or three instruments — a mix of guitars, basses, violins or ukuleles, spaced along a single 35-inch stave.

Where does the wood come from?

The oak comes from a retired Scotch whisky cask, sourced here in Scotland near my Loch Lomond workshop. Each stave spent years inside a working barrel, which is why the char and hoop marks are genuine.

Will it scratch my guitar?

The hooks are metal, so for a delicate finish I'd suggest adding a soft sleeve or checking the fit on your own instrument. The hanger holds guitars by the neck and keeps them secure on the wall.

Can I have it personalised?

Yes — personalisation is available as a custom order. Message me before ordering and I'll hand-engrave a name or short message into the oak, a popular touch for a gift such as "Daddy's pride and joys".

How do I install it?

The hanger arrives with pre-drilled holes. Fix it to the wall using fixings appropriate for your wall type — masonry plugs for brick, or anchors into a stud for plasterboard.

Does it make a good gift?

It makes a standout gift for a musician or whisky lover — the kind of present that anchors a man cave or studio. Unwrapped, it reads less like storage and more like a piece of a distillery, lit up.

Bring music and malt together on your wall — an LED whisky barrel guitar hanger handcrafted in Scotland from a single retired cask. Slàinte.
