Single Whisky Glass Holder – Reclaimed Oak Barrel Dram Stand

Price

£25.00

This single whisky glass holder is a solid oak stand, hand-cut from a retired Scotch whisky barrel and finished by hand in Scotland. It measures roughly 12–14 cm across and around 3 cm tall, with a 60 mm tartan-lined cradle that holds a stemmed nosing glass, copita or small wine glass — the glass itself isn't included. Each one is cut from genuine American oak, sanded back and sealed in Danish oil to bring out the warm honey tones and tactile grain.

From working cask to your home bar

Every holder begins as part of a barrel that once held maturing Scotch. When a cask retires after years of service, most of that oak is simply scrapped — we rescue it. This piece is hand-cut and carved from a barrel stave or a section of cask end, then sanded to lift away the grime while preserving the char and patina the wood earned over its working life. A few coats of Danish oil deepen the grain, and a panel of Scottish tartan is set into the bore so your glass settles softly rather than against bare timber. It's honest, first-hand work from our wee workshop near Loch Lomond — sawdust, oil and a bit of patience.

Key details

  • Hand-cut from a reclaimed whisky barrel — genuine American oak, never faux or engineered wood.
  • Roughly 12–14 cm long and wide, about 3 cm tall — a neat footprint for any surface.
  • 60 mm aperture lined with Scottish tartan to hold a stemmed glass securely and protect its foot.
  • Finished in Danish oil to highlight the warm honey tones, char and natural oak grain.
  • Glass not included — pair it with your own favourite dram glass.
  • Each holder is individual: because the wood is reclaimed, grain, colour and char vary from piece to piece — character, not flaws.
  • Handcrafted in Scotland near Loch Lomond.

How it fits your space

Set this single whisky glass holder on a home bar, a whisky shelf, a desk or a windowsill and it does two jobs at once: it keeps a favourite glass upright and ready, and it adds a warm, tactile anchor of real oak to the room. The rust-and-amber palette sits naturally in an industrial rustic interior, a snug study or a cabin-style room, and it pairs well with the rest of our reclaimed whisky barrel range — from bar accessories through to whisky wall decor. If you'd like something distillery-specific, we also make holders cut from named casks, which double as genuine Scottish distillery memorabilia.

Where do the barrels come from?

The oak comes from retired Scotch whisky casks sourced here in Scotland, near our Loch Lomond workshop. Each barrel spent years maturing whisky before we gave it a second life as this single whisky glass holder.

Does it come with a glass?

No — the holder is sold on its own so you can pair it with your own favourite dram glass. The 60 mm tartan-lined cradle is sized for a stemmed nosing glass, a copita or a small wine glass.

Which glasses will fit?

Any stemmed glass with a foot or stem up to about 60 mm across will sit neatly in the holder — nosing copitas and small wine glasses are ideal. A stemless tumbler or stemless Glencairn rests flat on its own base and doesn't need a holder.

How do I care for it?

Wipe it with a dry or barely damp cloth, and keep it out of the dishwasher and away from soaking. Because it's sealed with Danish oil, a light re-oil once or twice a year keeps the oak grain rich and protected for years.

Is it really made from a whisky barrel?

Yes. This is genuine retired cask oak, not a replica or veneer. The dents, stains and char marks are part of its history — we call that character, and no two holders are quite the same.

Does it make a good gift?

It makes a thoughtful gift for whisky lovers, home-bar builders and anyone hard to buy for. It arrives as a compact, handcrafted piece with real provenance — a small single whisky glass holder that tells a story every time they pour a dram.
