Barrel Craft Studio ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit barrelcraftstudio.co.uk or place an order with us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

1. The personal data we collect
Depending on how you use our site, we may collect:

  • Order and contact details — your name, email address, postal/delivery address, phone number and order history, when you make a purchase or contact us.

  • Payment information — when you place an order, your payment is processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our systems.

  • Information you send us — the content of any message you send through our contact form or by email.

  • Technical and usage data — collected automatically when you browse, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you interact with the site (see "Cookies and tracking" below).

We do not operate a newsletter and do not collect email addresses for marketing sign-ups.
2. How and why we use your data
We use your personal data to:

  • process and fulfil your orders, take payment and arrange delivery (lawful basis: performance of a contract);

  • respond to your enquiries and provide customer service (lawful basis: legitimate interests / performance of a contract);

  • keep records required for accounting and tax (lawful basis: legal obligation);

  • understand how visitors use our site, and measure the effectiveness of our advertising, so we can improve the shop (lawful basis: consent, where required, via cookies — see below).

3. Cookies and tracking
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies. These fall into two groups:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the site, basket and checkout to function. These are set by our platform provider, Wix.

  • Analytics and advertising cookies — used to understand site usage and to measure advertising. In particular, we use the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.), which helps us measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and may be used to show you relevant ads on Meta platforms.

Where required by law, non-essential cookies are only set after you give consent through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw or change that consent at any time. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly as a result.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted third parties who help us run the business, including:

  • Wix.com Ltd — our website and online store platform (hosting and order management);

  • our payment provider — to process payments securely;

  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — in connection with the Meta Pixel and our advertising (see section 3);

  • delivery and courier companies — to ship your order;

  • professional advisers and authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information.

5. International transfers
Some of our providers (such as Wix and Meta) may process data on servers outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent) to keep your data protected.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep order and transaction records for as long as necessary to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations (generally up to 6 years for financial records). Enquiry correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with your query. After that, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;

  • ask us to delete your data, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;

  • object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;

  • ask for a copy of your data in a portable format;

  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

8. Children
Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
