LED Whisky Barrel Guitar Holder – RGB Backlit Reclaimed Oak Stave, 3 Hooks
£99.00
This LED whisky barrel guitar holder is a wall-mounted rack hand-cut from a single oak stave that once curved around a barrel of maturing Scotch, fitted with three hooks and a band of RGB backlighting. It holds up to three instruments — guitars, basses, violins or ukuleles — and the colour-changing LEDs (battery-powered, with a remote) wash the wall behind the wood in any shade you like. The stave measures roughly 35 inches (about 90 cm) long, comes predrilled for hanging, and keeps the genuine char and hoop marks of a working cask. About 2.5 kg in reclaimed American oak.
Where music meets malt
For years this stave held Scotch safe while it slept, taking on the deep char of the toasted interior. When the cask was broken down, most of its staves were destined for the scrap pile — we rescued this one. In our wee workshop on the Highlands and Lowlands border we sanded it back through several passes, sealed it with a clear coat of linseed wood oil to bring out the warm honey tones and grain, and fitted metal accents made from the original barrel hoops. Then we added a strip of RGB LEDs behind the wood, so your instrument doesn't just hang — it glows. It's honest, first-hand work: sawdust, oil and a bit of stagecraft.

How it fits your space
An LED whisky barrel guitar holder turns wall storage into a feature. Mounted behind a home bar, in a music room or in a man cave, it keeps instruments safe and to hand while the RGB glow makes them the centrepiece of the room. The warm oak, rust-marked hoops and colour-changing light sit naturally in an industrial rustic interior, and it works as whisky wall decor even between gigs. For a player who loves a good dram it doubles as genuine Scottish distillery memorabilia — a real piece of a working cask on the wall. It pairs well with the rest of our reclaimed whisky barrel range.
How many instruments does it hold?
It has three hooks, so it holds up to three instruments — a mix of guitars, basses, violins or ukuleles. The hooks sit on a single 35-inch stave, so they're spaced for full-size guitars side by side.
How do the LEDs work?
The backlighting is a colour-changing RGB strip powered by batteries and controlled with a remote, so there's no cable to a wall socket. You can switch colours, dim it or turn it off from across the room.
How do I hang it?
The stave comes predrilled, so you fix it to the wall with screws through the existing holes. At around 2.5 kg with up to three instruments on it, use appropriate wall fixings for the weight of your guitars.
Where does the wood come from?
The oak comes from a retired Scotch whisky cask, sourced here in Scotland near our Loch Lomond workshop. Each stave spent years inside a working barrel, which is why the char and hoop marks are genuine.
Will it scratch my guitar?
The rack holds instruments by the neck on its hooks. For valuable or delicate instruments we'd always recommend checking the fit on your own guitar, as every headstock is slightly different.
Can I order a custom version?
Yes — we take custom orders on guitar racks, including different hook counts or sizing. Just get in touch with Barrel Craft Studio before ordering and we'll talk it through.
Does it make a good gift?
It makes a standout gift for a musician or whisky lover — the kind of present that anchors a man cave or studio. Unwrapped, it reads less like storage and more like a piece of a distillery, lit up.
