Whisky Barrel Pendant Light
£149.00
I handcraft this Whisky Barrel Pendant Light in my one-person workshop near Loch Lomond, giving reclaimed oak a new place in your home.
Simple in shape and full of character, this three-light oak pendant is handmade from a reclaimed Scotch whisky cask stave. I make each one in my small workshop near Loch Lomond, working with the natural curve and grain of the timber.
Handmade with respect for the wood
The oak carries the marks of its earlier life in a whisky cask. I sand and finish each stave by hand, preserving the details that make reclaimed wood individual. Grain, colour and markings vary naturally from piece to piece.

Where this light belongs
The narrow stave and three hanging bulbs suit a kitchen table, dining space or home bar where you want to see the wood itself. Pair it with painted cupboards, linen and a timber table for a country interior, or with a simple worktop and black fittings for a more contemporary setting.
The natural curve introduces a gentle contrast to straight furniture, while the black chain keeps the overall look simple. Grain, colour and markings vary between staves, so the character belongs to the individual piece of oak. Choose compatible E27 bulbs to match your room's lighting needs.
A handmade gift with a story
A handmade oak pendant is a thoughtful housewarming or anniversary idea for someone who values natural materials and Scottish craftsmanship. Its whisky cask origins also make it a fitting gift for a whisky enthusiast, without requiring a preference for one particular distillery. Plan the location with the recipient before choosing a fitted light.

Frequently asked questions
What handmade lighting would suit a country kitchen?
A curved oak pendant complements painted cupboards, a wooden table and natural fabrics. This three-light design uses a reclaimed Scotch whisky cask stave, bringing the grain and character of the wood into the centre of the room.
How can I add warmth to a minimalist dining room?
Introduce a natural material with an uncomplicated shape. This slim oak stave pendant adds texture above a table, while the open arrangement of three bulbs keeps the design visually light. Bulb choice determines the colour and brightness.
What is a Scottish housewarming gift with a practical use?
A lamp handmade from reclaimed whisky cask oak can become part of everyday life in a new home. I make each pendant in my one-person workshop near Loch Lomond. It is best chosen with the recipient so the space and installation are suitable.
Do I need a whisky-themed room for a whisky barrel light?
No. The oak's shape and grain work with many interiors, from country kitchens to modern dining spaces. Its earlier life in a Scotch whisky cask adds a story for those who appreciate the material's origins.
