Lagavulin Whisky Barrel Pendant Light
£199.00
A Piece of Islay, Suspended in Light
Some objects simply furnish a room. This one tells a story.
For over two decades, this very stave cradled Lagavulin single malt, one of Scotland's most revered Islay whiskies. Cask 3196, filled in 1997, absorbed the smoke, the sea salt, and the slow passage of Highland time. Now, rescued from retirement and handcrafted in our wee Loch Lomond workshop, it lives again as functional art above your table.
The Heritage
Every whisky barrel has a journey. This one began on the rugged shores of Islay, where peat smoke drifts across the distillery and the Atlantic crashes against ancient rocks.
We don't manufacture these staves. We rescue them. And in that distinction lies everything that makes this piece irreplaceable.
The Craftsmanship
Each pendant light passes through our hands multiple times:
- Sourced directly from Scottish distilleries after cask retirement
- Hand-sanded to preserve the grain's character while removing decades of warehouse grime
- Fitted with industrial-style copper bulb holders and robust black chain suspension
- Finished with a protective oil that enhances the natural honey and amber tones of the aged oak
The original iron hoops and rivet marks? They stay. We call them character, not damage. They're proof this wood lived a life worth remembering.

- Thoughtful gift-givers looking beyond the ordinary
A Note on Uniqueness
Due to the nature of reclaimed materials, no two pieces are identical. Grain patterns, char marks, and natural wood variations make your light truly one-of-a-kind. The distillery stamp placement may vary slightly, but the authenticity never does.
