Each barrel head carries its original distillery markings, year and cask number. When that exact piece is sold, it is gone.
THE STUDIO
Everything here passes through my hands
I believe in giving new life to old things. Barrel Craft Studio is me: there is no team and no production line.
I rescue Scotch whisky casks that have finished their working life and work the oak by hand into lighting, furniture and wall art, in my workshop near Loch Lomond.
Some of my oak comes from distilleries that no longer exist. Nobody is filling those casks again.
Lighting
Light from a whisky cask
I turn reclaimed whisky barrel staves into pendant lights, working with the curve, grain and character of the oak. Each light is assembled and finished by hand in my Loch Lomond workshop.
